COMP Cams Xtreme Energy XE256H hydraulic flat tappet camshaft for Ford Small Block 221 / 260 / 289 / 302 engines. The profile is intended for street and mild street/strip builds where strong low- and mid-range torque is required while keeping street manners reasonable.

Application / fitment

Designed for Ford Small Block 221 / 260 / 289 / 302 CID engines used in many Ford and Mercury applications around 1963–1995. This camshaft uses a hydraulic flat tappet lifter design and a 1-bolt cam gear attachment.

Before installation, verify firing order, lifter type, valve springs, retainers, installed height, pushrod guidance, rocker arm geometry and piston-to-valve clearance. A flat tappet camshaft requires correct break-in procedure, assembly lube and oil with an appropriate anti-wear additive package.
