Speedmaster PCE510.1004 is a steel camshaft thrust retaining plate supplied with mounting bolts. It limits axial camshaft movement, maintaining timing-drive geometry and stable camshaft position in Ford Small Block Windsor engines.
Application / fitment
The manufacturer specifies the set for Ford Small Block Windsor engines:
- Ford 289 / 4.7 L V8
- Ford 302 / 5.0 L V8
- Ford 351W / 5.8 L V8
- selected Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Shelby, De Tomaso, TVR and marine applications using the corresponding Windsor block
Fitment condition: confirm that the block uses a bolted, flat camshaft thrust plate matching PCE510.1004 geometry. The set is not for Ford 351C Cleveland, 351M/400, FE, Modular or Coyote engines. Aftermarket blocks also require confirmation of bolt spacing, thrust-surface diameter and specified plate thickness.
Installation note: inspect the camshaft face, old plate and camshaft endplay before assembly. Install the plate in the orientation required by the block design and tighten the bolts to the engine manufacturer's specification. Recheck camshaft endplay and free rotation after installation.
