Melling SYB-25

Melling SYB-25 is a hydraulic flat tappet camshaft for Ford 289 / 302 Small Block engines. The profile is stock-style and is suited for mild classic engine rebuilds using hydraulic lifters.

Application / fitment

The camshaft is intended for selected Ford Small Block 289 and 302 engines requiring a mild hydraulic flat tappet profile close to stock characteristics.

Typical automotive applications include selected Ford Mustang, Falcon, Fairlane, Torino, Maverick, Granada, LTD, F-Series, Bronco and Mercury Cougar, Comet, Montego and related models with 289 / 302 engines from approximately 1963–1976. Before installation, confirm lifter type, valve springs, rocker arm ratio and compatibility with the flat tappet cam oiling system.

After installing a flat tappet camshaft, use proper break-in oil with adequate ZDDP content and follow a correct camshaft break-in procedure.
