Melling SYB-21

Melling SYB-21 is a hydraulic flat tappet camshaft for Ford Cleveland / Modified engines. The profile is stock-style and intended for classic Ford V8 engines using hydraulic lifters.

Application / fitment

The camshaft is intended for selected Ford 351C, 351M and 400 engines when the SYB-21 camshaft type is required.

Typical automotive applications include selected Ford, Mercury and Lincoln models with 351C, 351M or 400 engines from approximately 1970–1982, such as Mustang, Torino, Ranchero, LTD, Thunderbird, F-Series, Bronco, Mercury Cougar, Montego, Marquis and selected Lincoln applications with the 335-series engine family. Before installation, confirm engine type, lifter type, rocker arm ratio and required valve springs.

Flat tappet camshafts require correct break-in, proper anti-wear oil additives and valve spring pressure verification.
