Complete molded-rubber two-piece rear main seal for selected Ford 140, 250, early 3.8 V6 and 221–302 V8 engines. The kit contains two matching seal segments.
Fel-Pro P30136 is a complete molded-rubber rear main crankshaft seal for selected Ford engines using a two-piece rear main seal design. The kit consists of two matching segments that form the complete rear crankshaft seal and help prevent engine-oil leakage between the engine block and transmission.
Application / fitment
This seal is used only in engines equipped with a two-piece rear main seal. It does not fit later engines using a one-piece rear crankshaft seal. Typical catalog applications include selected Ford, Lincoln and Mercury engines:
- Ford 221 / 3.6 L, 255 / 4.2 L, 260 / 4.3 L and 289 / 4.7 L V8
- Ford 302 / 5.0 L engines using the two-piece seal, generally through 1982 and selected early 1983 model-year builds
- Ford 140 / 2.3 L inline-four
- Ford 250 / 4.1 L inline-six
- early Ford 232 / 3.8 L V6 applications using the two-piece seal
- selected Ford Mustang, Falcon, Fairlane, Bronco, F-Series, Maverick, Granada, Pinto and Fairmont models
- selected Mercury Cougar, Comet, Capri, Zephyr, Marquis and Montego models
- selected Shelby Cobra, De Tomaso Mangusta and TVR applications using the corresponding Ford engine
Fitment condition: confirm that the engine uses a two-piece rear main seal before ordering. Different sealing systems may have been used within the same model and year depending on engine build date, block design and rear-main-cap configuration. Do not select the product solely by engine make and displacement.
Installation note: inspect the crankshaft sealing surface for grooves, scratches and corrosion and verify correct PCV-system operation. Install both matching segments as one complete set, following the Fel-Pro seal-lip direction and lubrication procedure. Position the segment joints according to the installation instructions and thoroughly clean the block and rear-main-cap mating surfaces.
