Sold individually – a V8 needs 16 lifters, a V6 needs 12, a four-cylinder needs 8. For 350 engines it applies to Buick-built units (also in 1978–80 Pontiacs and 1969–71 Jeeps). Always fit new lifters with a new camshaft and use a zinc (ZDDP) break-in oil or additive. Never move used lifters to another camshaft or another lobe.
