Triumph 144343 small diameter tappet cam follower set 8 pcs

Triumph 144343 is the small-diameter valve tappet / cam follower used in selected early Triumph engines. This product is supplied as a complete 8-piece set, sufficient for one four-cylinder engine.

Application / fitment

• Triumph Spitfire Mk1 / Spitfire 4 — all 1147 cc engines
• Triumph Spitfire Mk2 — through engine number FC61022E only
• Triumph Herald 948
• Triumph Herald 1200 — early engines before the change to the larger tappet

From engine number FC61023E, Spitfire Mk2 uses the larger 143552 tappet with an outside diameter of approximately 0.800". Herald 1200 applications changed to the larger type from engine numbers GA177973E / GD59745E. Verify tappet diameter and engine number before installation.

When installing a new camshaft and followers, use suitable camshaft assembly lubricant and follow the correct break-in procedure. Cam lobes and tappets are critical mating surfaces and must be installed in suitable condition.
