Motorcraft FL-1A
3/4”-16 spin-on oil filter for many classic Ford/Lincoln/Mercury engines. Includes anti-drainback and bypass valve design.
Classic spin-on oil filter for many Ford, Lincoln and Mercury engines. The common 3/4”-16 thread is used across numerous inline and V8 applications, so the key checks are thread size, gasket diameter, installation clearance and lubrication system requirements.
Application / fitment
Used in a wide range of classic and later Ford/Lincoln/Mercury engines originally equipped with a 3/4”-16 spin-on oil filter. It is commonly found on many Ford Small Block, Ford FE, Ford 385-series, inline and utility applications.
- Ford engines requiring a 3/4”-16 oil filter thread
- Classic Ford, Lincoln and Mercury engines using a spin-on canister filter
- Service and rebuild applications where filter dimensions and valve specifications match the engine requirements
Before installation, compare thread size, gasket diameter and position, filter height, clearance near the exhaust/frame and the required bypass valve pressure. Lubricate the gasket with clean oil and check for leaks after start-up.
