FRAM CH9641

FRAM CH9641 is a replaceable cartridge oil filter used in selected Mazda MZR engines and related Ford Duratec applications. The cartridge operates inside a permanent filter housing and replaces only the filter element rather than a complete metal spin-on canister.

Application / fitment

The number appears in selected applications using Mazda OE L321-14-302, LFY1-14-302 and LF01-14-302. Typical model groups include:

• selected Mazda 3 vehicles with 2.0 and 2.3 L MZR engines
• selected Mazda 5 and Mazda 6 vehicles using the corresponding cartridge housing
• selected Mazda CX-7 and MX-5 Miata applications with a catalog-approved engine

Fitment condition: confirm model year, engine code, housing type and the old filter number. The same vehicle range may use either a cartridge element or a metal spin-on filter. Vehicle model alone does not establish compatibility.

Installation note: clean the housing after removing the old element, inspect the locating stem and replace the cap seal if supplied in the package. Tighten the cap to the vehicle manufacturer's specification and check for leakage after refilling and startup.
