Enginetech S2887 is a single nitrile umbrella-style valve-stem seal for a 3/8-inch valve stem. It controls oil flow to the guide in classic valvetrains with adequate clearance for a moving umbrella seal.
Application / fitment
S2887 is catalogued for various engines using 3/8-inch valve stems. The range includes selected American V8 engines, but fitment must be confirmed by stem diameter, spring type, guide design and available space.
- selected Ford FE 332, 352 and 390 CID engines
- selected AMC V8 engines
- selected GM Big Block engines, including certain 454 CID / 7.4 L applications
- other 3/8-inch-stem applications where the cylinder-head design accepts an umbrella seal
The seal is not recommended in double-spring configurations where clearance is insufficient. It is not a stationary positive metal-clad seal fitted to a machined guide.
