Fel-Pro 5P591

Fel-Pro 5P591 is a positive-style valve stem seal for selected Ford Modular SOHC engines. Fixed to the valve guide, the seal precisely meters the oil film remaining on the valve stem and limits oil entry into the combustion chamber.

Part number 5P591 is associated with Fel-Pro SS72891-1 and Ford OE DC2Z-6571-A / F6AZ-6571-AA. Typical applications include selected:

• Ford Modular 4.6 L SOHC V8 engines
• Ford Modular 5.4 L SOHC V8 engines
• Ford Triton 6.8 L SOHC V10 engines
• Ford F-Series, E-Series, Crown Victoria, Expedition and related applications

Fitment condition: confirm OE number, engine code and cylinder-head design. Ford Modular engines use different seals depending on model year, head version and valve position. A complete V8 service normally requires 16 pieces and a V10 20 pieces when the same number is used on all valves.

Installation note: press the seal onto a clean valve guide with the correct installer and protect the sealing lip from sharp valve-lock grooves. Measure valve-stem-to-guide clearance before installation. A new seal cannot correct an excessively worn guide.
