MotoRad 7206-195
195°F Fail-Safe thermostat with an approximately 63.25 mm flange and open-lock protection after activation.
MotoRad 7206-195 is a 195°F / approximately 90.6°C Fail-Safe engine-coolant thermostat. Under normal conditions it operates like a conventional thermostat; during overheating, its secondary stroke can lock the valve open to maintain maximum coolant circulation.
Application / fitment
The thermostat uses a large 2.49-inch flange and is catalogued for many older American vehicles. Select it by flange diameter, housing and required temperature rather than make alone.
- selected Ford F-Series, Galaxie, Thunderbird and commercial applications
- selected Lincoln and Mercury
- selected Chrysler, Dodge, DeSoto and Plymouth
- selected Jeep and International
- selected classic Chevrolet and Cadillac applications using this thermostat size
Once the Fail-Safe function has activated and locked the valve open, the thermostat must be replaced. It does not correct the cause of overheating.
