Clean the pan and block flanges thoroughly and straighten any pan flange distorted around the bolt holes. Apply a thin bead of RTV sealant at the corners (timing cover and rear main seal joints). Tighten from the centre outwards to the engine specification – overtightening squeezes the gasket out. The manufacturer intends this version for performance use; it is not intended for emission-controlled vehicles.
