ATP 102037
Elastomer harmonic balancer for selected Pontiac V8 engines. 172.47 mm diameter, 35 mm crank bore, 80 mm width and 4 pulley holes.
ATP 102037 is an elastomer crankshaft harmonic balancer for selected traditional Pontiac V8 engines. Its hub and inertia ring are joined by an elastomer element that reduces crankshaft torsional vibration while the engine is running.
Application / fitment
The balancer appears in selected classic Pontiac V8 vehicles using four crank-pulley mounting holes. Confirm shaft bore, outside diameter, overall width, engine balance type and timing-mark position.
- part type: crankshaft harmonic balancer
- selected traditional Pontiac V8 engines: 350 / 5.7 L, 400 / 6.6 L, 428 / 7.0 L and 455 / 7.5 L
- selected late-1960s and 1970s Pontiac Firebird, Catalina, Bonneville, Grand Prix, GTO, LeMans and Tempest applications
- engine balance: internal
- crank-pulley bolt-hole count: 4
- dimensions: 6.79 in / 172.47 mm outside diameter; 1 3/8 in / 35 mm crank bore; 3 1/8 in / 80 mm overall width
Inspect the crank snout, keyway and crank bolt before installation. Draw the balancer onto the crankshaft with the correct installer applying force through the hub; never hammer it on or press on the outer inertia ring. Verify the TDC mark against actual piston position after installation.
