Rostra 68-0020
Single-wire engine coolant temperature sender with a threaded stud terminal for an analog instrument-panel gauge.
Rostra 68-0020 is an engine coolant temperature sender for the temperature gauge circuit in the instrument panel. Its resistance changes with coolant temperature and supplies the analog gauge signal; it should not replace an ECU temperature sensor unless the catalog application matches.
Application / fitment
The part is used in selected older Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth and Jeep/AMC gauge systems, including some van and pickup applications with 3.9 / 239, 5.2 / 318 and 5.9 / 360 engines. Before installation, compare body thread, probe length, the single terminal style and the electrical response with the removed sender.
- part type: engine coolant temperature sender
- function: signal for the instrument-panel temperature gauge
- selected applications: older Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth and Jeep/AMC vehicles with an analog gauge
- electrical connection: 1 stud terminal
Use a thread sealant suitable for temperature senders without electrically isolating the body from engine ground. After installation, check the gauge reading with the engine cold and at normal operating temperature.
