Gates 43072 is a water pump for selected early Ford and Mercury engines with accessory belt drive. Its aluminum housing, cast iron impeller and standard rotation make it a practical replacement part when restoring or repairing the cooling system on a classic Ford.

Used on selected early-1960s Ford and Mercury applications depending on engine, pump inlet side, hub height and belt drive layout.

- Ford 260 CID V8 — selected applications approx. 1962–1964.
- Ford 289 CID V8 — selected applications approx. 1963–1968.
- Selected Ford Falcon, Fairlane, Galaxie, Ranchero, Mustang and Mercury Comet / Caliente / Cyclone / Villager models with the correct cooling system configuration.
Before installation, verify the lower radiator hose inlet side, hub height, pulley, belt layout, timing cover and fan type. Pulley and fan clutch are not included.
