Lares Steering Couplers 201
Complete flexible steering coupling for a 13/16-inch splined input shaft with a flat and an 82.55 mm outside diameter.
Lares 201 is a complete flexible steering-column coupling assembly, commonly called a rag joint, for a 13/16-inch splined steering-gear input shaft with a flat. It connects the steering column to the steering gearbox while damping vibration and minor misalignment.
Application / fitment
- selected 1967–1979 GM passenger cars with power steering
- selected 1967–1976 Chevrolet Camaro and 1967–1979 Nova
- selected late-1960s and 1970s Chevrolet C10/C20 and Suburban applications
- selected Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac, plus certain Ford, Mercury, Jeep, International and Mopar applications using the same shaft
Important: Lares describes the input as 13/16 inch with 31 splines and a flat. Some retail catalogues call it 13/16-36 spline. The difference reflects spline-counting conventions around the flat. Physically compare the steering-gear shaft.
