AcDelco 336-1008
12 V remanufactured direct-drive starter with a 9-tooth pinion for selected classic Ford and Mercury manual-transmission applications using a 164-tooth ring gear.
ACDelco 336-1008 is a 12 V remanufactured direct-drive starter motor for selected classic Ford and Mercury applications using a remote starter solenoid. It has a 9-tooth pinion, a closed nose housing and a two-bolt flange mount.
Application / fitment
The starter is intended primarily for selected vehicles with a 3- or 4-speed manual transmission and a 164-tooth flywheel ring gear. It must not be assumed to fit automatic-transmission or 5-speed manual applications. Transmission type, ring-gear tooth count, pinion offset and nose-housing design must be checked before purchase.
- Ford Bronco 1966–1977 – selected 289 CID / 4.7 L and 302 CID / 5.0 L V8 applications
- Ford Mustang and Mustang II 1964–1977 – selected 260, 289, 302 and 351 CID V8 manual-transmission applications
- Ford Fairlane 1962–1970, Falcon 1963–1970, Torino and Gran Torino 1968–1974, plus selected Ranchero applications
- Ford F-100, F-150, F-250 and Econoline/E-Series approximately 1965–1977 – selected 240/300 CID inline-six and 302/351 CID V8 configurations
- Mercury Comet, Cougar, Cyclone, Montego, Meteor and related models using the corresponding flywheel and manual transmission
This is a summary of commonly catalogued applications and does not confirm compatibility with every version. Classic vehicles may have received transmission, flywheel, bellhousing or electrical-system conversions, so the removed starter must be compared directly.
