Melling M84A

Melling M84A is an Melling standard-volume engine oil pump corresponding to the Melling M-84A design. It is intended for wet-sump lubrication systems in Ford 335-series V8 engines.

Application / fitment

The pump is catalogued for selected Ford 351 Cleveland, 351M and 400 V8 engines. Vehicle coverage includes compatible Ford, Lincoln and Mercury applications from approximately 1970–1982, subject to engine code, oil-pan design and pickup configuration. It must not be selected for a 351 Windsor merely because both engines displace 351 CID.

Confirm the engine code and compare the housing, drive and threaded pickup connection before installation. Prime the new pump with oil or suitable assembly lubricant and prime the lubrication system before first start-up. The pickup, drive shaft and gasket are not included unless they are physically present in the package.
