Dorman 42056 is a rubber PCV valve mounting grommet. It secures the crankcase-ventilation valve in a valve cover or other specified opening and seals the connection against vacuum leakage and engine-oil seepage.

Remove the old grommet without damaging the valve cover and clean oil deposits from the opening. Lightly lubricate the new rubber with clean engine oil and press it in evenly. The PCV valve must fit tightly without tearing the grommet edge.
