WVE 2p1003
WVE 2P1003 is a black rubber PCV valve mounting grommet for securing a crankcase-ventilation valve in a valve cover or other original engine mounting point. The flexible grommet supports the valve, seals the joint and helps prevent unmetered-air entry and oil-vapor leakage.
Application / fitment
This grommet appears in a very wide range of American PCV systems. Fitment should be confirmed primarily by PCV valve diameter, mounting-hole size and OE reference rather than vehicle model alone.
- selected Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Oldsmobile and Pontiac vehicles approximately 1968–1993
- selected Jeep / Chrysler vehicles approximately 1969–1971
- many classic GM inline-six, V6 and V8 engines using a push-in PCV valve in the valve cover
- other applications corresponding to GM OE 1231486 or Dorman 42061 and Standard GV5
Fitment condition: measure the outside diameter of the PCV valve section entering the grommet and the opening in the valve cover. Different catalogs show slight dimensional variation caused by rounding and measuring point; do not select the grommet by outer flange diameter alone.
Installation note: remove the hardened original grommet without pushing fragments into the engine. Clean oil and deposits from the mounting bore and install the new rubber part evenly without sharp tools. The PCV valve should fit tightly without tearing the grommet.
