Oil pump pickup for Ford Small Block engines with a stock oil pan. 4.050” / 102.88 mm screen, 0.500” / 12.70 mm tube.
Melling 68-S is an oil pump pickup for selected Ford Small Block engines. It draws oil from the pan and works with the oil pump, so compatibility with the oil pan is just as important as the engine family.
Application / fitment
The pickup is intended for selected Ford Small Block / SBF engines with a stock oil pan layout, mainly 221, 255, 260, 289 and 302 applications from approximately 1962–1980. Oil pan type, pan depth, oil pump position and pickup-to-pan clearance determine final compatibility.

Before installation, check the clearance between the screen and the bottom of the oil pan, oil pump condition, pickup sealing and compatibility with the stock pan. On modified engines, engines with a different oil pan or altered suspension layout, engine displacement alone does not confirm fitment.
