Purolator PV768

Purolator PV768 is a metal inline positive crankcase ventilation valve. It meters blow-by flow into the intake according to manifold vacuum, helping control crankcase pressure and route oil vapors back through the combustion process.

Application / fitment

PV768 belongs to a widely used PCV-valve group for selected carbureted American engines from the 1960s and 1970s. Confirmed catalog examples include selected Buick 350, 400, 401, 425, 430 and 455 CID applications such as Riviera 425, Wildcat 430 and Century 350. The same valve type is also cataloged for selected Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, International, Jeep, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Studebaker applications.

Fitment condition: a PCV valve is not universal based on hose diameter alone. Compare the part number, flow direction, connection arrangement and the calibration required by the specific engine.

Installation note: install the valve in the correct flow direction from the crankcase toward the intake manifold or carburetor base. Inspect the hoses and rubber connectors and confirm that the crankcase fresh-air inlet is clear.
