Mahle VA0700020

MAHLE Metal Leve VA0700020 is one standard-size intake valve for selected air-cooled Volkswagen flat-four engines displacing 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7 liters. Its 35.50 mm head and 7.94 mm stem match classic VW cylinder-head geometry also used in Puma and Gurgel vehicles.

Application / fitment

Select the valve by OE number, stem diameter, overall length, head diameter and cylinder-head design. Typical applications include:

• air-cooled Volkswagen Beetle / Fusca 1.5 and 1.6 flat-four engines
• Volkswagen Kombi / Type 2 / Transporter 1.6 air-cooled
• Volkswagen Brasilia, Variant and Karmann Ghia with the corresponding engine
• Volkswagen SP2 1.7
• selected air-cooled Volkswagen Gol and Saveiro applications
• selected Puma GTE/GTS and Gurgel G15, Xavante/X12 and XEF vehicles using a VW 1.6 engine

Fitment condition: this is an STD valve. Confirm OE 040 109 601.2, guide diameter, overall length and valve-head diameter before assembly. Do not use it in water-cooled VW AP engines or modified cylinder heads without workshop measurements.

Installation note: check valve-to-guide clearance, head runout and seat-contact width. After seat machining, maintain correct stem-tip height, spring geometry and specified valve lash. A complete service of a four-cylinder flat-four normally requires four intake valves.
