ATP 103014
ATP 103014 is a steel ignition timing pointer mounted adjacent to the crankshaft pulley and harmonic balancer. It provides a fixed reference for the timing marks, allowing ignition advance to be checked with a timing light and true top dead center to be verified.
Application / fitment
The pointer is intended for selected Buick-family engines and Jeep applications using the corresponding timing cover and timing-mark position. Confirmed applications include 1966–1971 Jeep CJ5 and CJ6 models with the 225 CID / 3.7 L V6. Catalog coverage also includes selected Buick 225/231 V6 and 300/340/350 V8 engines used in Buick, Oldsmobile and Pontiac vehicles.
- 1966–1971 Jeep CJ5, 225 CID / 3.7 L V6
- 1966–1971 Jeep CJ6, 225 CID / 3.7 L V6
- selected Buick 225 and 231 CID V6 engines
- selected Buick 300, 340 and 350 CID V8 engines
Fitment condition: compare the mounting-hole location and the pointer position with the timing cover, pulley and harmonic balancer being used. Engine family alone does not guarantee fitment because several cover and balancer combinations were produced.
Installation note: mechanically verify true top dead center for cylinder number one after installation. A slipped outer ring on an old harmonic balancer can produce an incorrect reading even when the pointer is installed correctly.
