Enginetech IS-68

Enginetech IS-68 is a steel oil pump intermediate drive shaft for selected Ford Small Block engines. It transfers drive from the distributor to the oil pump.

Application / fitment

IS-68 is catalogued for selected Ford 221, 255, 260, 289 and 302 V8 engines, approximately 1962–2001 depending on engine and distributor version. Common applications include classic Ford Mustang, Bronco, Falcon, Fairlane and Ranchero models and later vehicles with the 5.0/302 engine. Compare length, diameter and both end profiles with the original shaft before installation.

Replacing the shaft is recommended whenever a new oil pump is installed because an old component may be twisted, cracked or weakened by fatigue. Seat the shaft correctly in the pump and distributor, then check free rotation and positive engagement. A retaining sleeve is not included.
