Enginetech BC298J
Main bearing set for Chevrolet / GMC Turbo-Thrift L6 194, 230, 250 and 292 with 7 main bearings.
Enginetech BC298J is a crankshaft main bearing set for classic GM inline six-cylinder engines. Main bearings are a key part of a lower engine rebuild, so the engine family, number of main journals and actual crankshaft size must be checked before assembly.
Application / fitment
Application covers selected Chevrolet / GMC Turbo-Thrift L6 engines from the U.S. 1962-1988 engine family: 3.2 L / 194, 3.8 L / 230, 4.1 L / 250 and 4.8 L / 292. This set is for the later GM inline-six design with seven main bearings, not the earlier Stovebolt engine family.
- part type: crankshaft main bearings
- position: crankshaft main journals in the engine block
- selected engine applications: Chevrolet / GMC L6 194, 230, 250 and 292
- installation condition: matching main bearing count, bearing tang location and crankshaft size
Measure the crankshaft journals and check oil clearance during assembly. Engine code alone is not enough, especially after previous crankshaft grinding or wear.
